Digital Innovator of the Year

In February 2021, Mount Hawke Academy Head of School, Catherine Biddick nominated MHA Class Teacher and DL Cornwall IT guru, Giles Hill in the Pearson National Teaching Awards.

We can now reveal ... (cue, drum roll), that our very own Mr Hill is now the proud owner of a BRONZE award for Digital Innovator of the Year.

A BRONZE Giles

Despite several hundred teachers being nominated across the country, many for going above and beyond during the first COVID-19 lockdown, Giles made it through to the final 12, and then was only one of five primary school nominees.  The final challenge was an intensive interview delivered virtually, with Giles and Catherine being questioned and scrutinised by a judging panel for 3 hours!

Fellow SMĀĻ°ķ colleagues and MHA parents provided wonderfully positive testimonials about Giles' contribution to the school, and the Trust, and they were also joined by Andrew Earnshaw, Helen Bingham & Mark Harding from Indian Queens Primary School.  The children also had a voice and spoke warmly about Mr Hill and the projects they've been working on.

Many congratulations Giles from us all!
